Welcome to BES! If you want a small town school, caring teachers, hands-on learning, a fun/firm/fair approach to behavior and discipline, a commitment to high standards of academic instruction, and a school that expects parents to volunteer and be a part of ongoing school quality and improvement...you have come to the right place!! Our staff are committed to following the Highly Effective Teaching (HET) approach to education. This approach uses textbooks and other traditional tools as a part of their academic instruction, but places extra emphasis on learning life skills and the California Content Standards by DOING, hands-on and "being there" experiences, and positive discipline (yes, you can use positive discipline, and still run a tight ship!). We believe in rigorous academic standards, a tight-knit school community, well rounded and "hands on" learning, and having FUN together while increasing achievement!
